This milestone positions “Big Mouth” as Netflix’s lengthiest original series, excluding content designed for kids and family audiences. Notably, it surpasses the seven-season runs of “Grace and Frankie” and “Orange Is the New Black.”
Drawing inspiration from the childhood experiences of Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, “Big Mouth” chronicles a group of friends and their hormone monsters as they navigate the complexities of adolescence, human sexuality, and the trials of coming of age. The cast, led by Nick Kroll, includes John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, and Ayo Edebiri (originally played by Jenny Slate). While Season 6 premiered in 2022, fans can anticipate Seasons 7, 8, and the grand finale in 2023 and 2024.

“Human Resources” unfolds within the universe of hormone monsters originating from “Big Mouth,” where diverse monsters are tasked with overseeing human emotions. The cast includes Nick Kroll, alongside Aidy Bryant, Randall Park, Keke Palmer, David Thewlis, Brandon Kyle Goodman, and Maya Rudolph.
Reflecting on the extended journey through adolescence, Kroll humorously remarked, “If you would have told adolescent Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg that middle school would take eight years to finish, they would have been like ‘Yeah, that sounds about right. This seems like it will never end.'”
Billy Wee, Netflix’s director of adult animation, lauded “Big Mouth” as a monumental achievement in animated comedy, set to make Netflix history for its remarkable longevity. He expressed excitement about sharing two more uproarious seasons with fans before the brilliant coming-of-age tale reaches its conclusion.
