Drake and SZA Share First-Ever Collaboration, ‘Slime You Out’
The single is a co-production effort between Drake and Noel Cadastre, an artist under Drake’s very own OVO label. One of the standout lyrics from the song goes, “I’m slimin’ you for them kid choices you made.” This intriguing line offers some insight into the album’s artwork, which the dynamic duo recently shared on their Instagram profiles.
Drake dropped a hint about this exciting collaboration when he tagged SZA in a picture of Halle Berry, famously doused in green slime at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. SZA promptly reposted the track’s cover art, essentially confirming the rumors surrounding their joint project.
This collaboration has been a long time coming for fans who were aware of the history between Drake and SZA. In the past, Drake revealed in his lyrics on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now” that he had dated SZA back in the day, stating, “Yeah, said she wanna fuck to some SZA, wait / ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08.” SZA clarified this by responding on Twitter, saying, “So it was actually 2009,” adding, “anybody who really knows me and was around during this time can confirm… it’s all love, all peace.”

In “Slime You Out,” it appears the two artists are playfully acknowledging these past rumors. The song features a back-and-forth exchange, with SZA singing, “You ain’t ’bout the shit you rappin’ about,” and Drake firing back with, “Sayin’ that I’m too guarded ’bout my feelings, who the fuck even asked you?”
This track provides a glimpse of what’s to come, as it serves as the debut single from Drake’s highly anticipated album, “For All the Dogs,” set to be released on September 22nd. During his ongoing U.S. tour alongside 21 Savage, Drake himself made the thrilling announcement, promising fans a sneak peek into his upcoming musical masterpiece. “I know you’re all eager to hear the album,” he declared. “I know it’s just two weeks away. I’ll be dropping a new song for all of you this week. Yeah, yeah. What a time, what a time.”
But the surprises don’t end there. During his Detroit tour stop on July 8, Drake gave a subtle hint about a possible collaboration with none other than Nicki Minaj. He expressed his deep admiration for the incredibly talented artist, sharing, “It’s been a while since Nicki Minaj and I worked on a song together. I have immense love and respect for her.”
Drake’s management team recently spoke with Variety, shedding light on the album’s creation process. They revealed that Drake has been diligently working on this album for quite some time. After releasing ‘Her Loss,’ he continued to record, and now we eagerly await the completion of his work. Their words resonate with the sentiment that the songs heard so far are truly extraordinary. Managing an artist of Drake’s caliber is an unparalleled experience, as he captivates fans with his massive tours while simultaneously building anticipation for his next project.
As we eagerly anticipate the release of “For All the Dogs” and bask in the musical chemistry between Drake and SZA on “Slime You Out,” it becomes evident that the rap icon consistently pushes boundaries and leaves an enduring mark on the music industry. With hints of more surprises on the horizon, Drake’s fans have every reason to be exhilarated about what lies ahead in his ever-evolving career.

In a startling turn of events, Russell Brand finds himself embroiled in a second police investigation, further complicating an already tumultuous chapter in his career. The Thames Valley Police has entered the fray, responding to fresh allegations of harassment and stalking made by a woman who came forward with what she referred to as "new information." These revelations come on the heels of the London Metropolitan Police's probe into a slew of sexual offense allegations against the comedian, a situation that has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and the public at large. According to reports, the woman who lodged the recent complaints had contacted Thames Valley Police several times between 2018 and 2022 with her grievances. However, during that time, no substantial action was taken. It's worth noting that Russell Brand, in a twist of fate, had previously accused the same woman of harassing him back in 2017. The Thames Valley Police has refrained from commenting on the ongoing investigation, citing its sensitivity. These developments follow a damning joint investigation conducted by The Times of London, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4's documentary program "Dispatches." The investigation alleged that Brand had committed sexual assault or rape against four women during the peak of his fame. Brand has vehemently denied these allegations, leading to a contentious and highly publicized legal battle. The repercussions of these allegations have been swift and profound. Russell Brand's live tour has been postponed indefinitely, leaving fans disappointed and uncertain about the future of his career. His publishing deal with Pan Macmillan imprint Bluebird has also been suspended, further complicating his professional outlook. The controversy has even spread to the realm of digital media, as the BBC has chosen to remove some of its past programs featuring Russell Brand from their digital services. The decision was made with the rationale that the content "falls below public expectations." Furthermore, a YouTube executive has weighed in on the matter, suggesting that Russell Brand should not be allowed to "make a living" through the platform. Despite this comment, YouTube has not taken any immediate action to ban the comedian from their platform. As the investigations continue to unfold and the legal battles intensify, Russell Brand's future remains uncertain. The allegations against him have not only shaken his career but also ignited a broader conversation about accountability and the #MeToo movement within the entertainment industry. The eyes of the public and the media remain fixed on this evolving story, which has far-reaching implications for the world of entertainment and the ongoing pursuit of justice.
