Los Angeles, CA – Kali Uchis, the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter, is gearing up to unveil her fourth studio album, “Orquídeas,” on January 12, 2024. The collection of Spanish-language music promises to be a unique and captivating venture, featuring collaborations with Dominican dembow singer El Alfa and JT from City Girls.

The title of the album holds profound significance as Kali Uchis embraces her Colombian roots. “The orchid is the national flower of Colombia, and we have more species of orchid than anywhere on earth,” Uchis explained in a recent press release. “I always felt distinctly intrigued and magnetized by the flower. This album is inspired by the timeless, eerie, mystic, striking, graceful, and sensual allure of the orchid.”

In a tantalizing teaser video, Uchis showcases her silky vocals in a mossy garden setting. An old TV screen navigates through languages before choosing “Español” and unveiling the album title, “Orquídeas.” The video culminates with a glowing Uchis standing atop a hill, holding a remote control, symbolizing her control over her artistic direction.

This exciting announcement comes on the heels of a highly successful year for Kali Uchis, marked by her “Red Moon In Venus” tour in support of her R&B-leaning LP of the same title, released earlier this year. The tour included a series of standout performances at iconic venues, such as the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Radio City Music Hall in New York, and the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Uchis even graced the stage at Coachella with surprise appearances by Tyler, The Creator, Omar Apollo, and her boyfriend, Don Toliver.

As the music world eagerly anticipates the release of “Orquídeas,” Kali Uchis continues to demonstrate her prowess as a groundbreaking artist, pushing the boundaries of representation and music. With its powerful message and enthralling sound, “Orquídeas” is poised to make a significant impact and redefine the way Latinas are viewed in the music industry.

In a world where music often transcends borders, Kali Uchis is reminding us of the importance of celebrating our roots and sharing our unique cultural stories with the world.
