Scheduled to premiere on Monday, October 2, exclusively on the US streaming service Hulu (with a UK release date still awaiting confirmation, but the possibility of a same-day release on Disney+), “Appendage” promises to merge the worlds of high fashion and body horror in a spine-tingling way. The film stars Hadley Robinson as Hannah, a fashion designer who unwittingly becomes a host for an ominous presence.

The trailer introduces Emily Hampshire in the role of Claudia, a character who appears surprisingly at ease with the malevolent entity she harbors within her. The two characters bond through a support group, where Claudia even goes so far as to tell Hannah that becoming a host was “the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Beyond her spine-tingling role in “Appendage,” Emily Hampshire is gearing up for her next venture: director Caitlin Cronenberg’s debut feature film, “Humane.” The production wrapped last year and is described as an environmental thriller.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world several months after global leaders have taken drastic actions to reduce the world’s population, “Humane” offers viewers a day-in-the-life glimpse of a wealthy family navigating these tumultuous times.
Director Caitlin Cronenberg expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Each and every day on set felt like a gift, and I feel truly blessed to have worked with such remarkable talents, both in front of and behind the camera. I cannot wait to share this film with the world.”
While Emily Hampshire is best known for her portrayal of Stevie Budd in “Schitt’s Creek,” she recently shared a lighthearted anecdote from her time on the show during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.” Apparently, the cast was allowed to take home outfits from the set, which were often expensive designer brands. Emily humorously admitted that she felt it was unfair to take the outfits since she had purchased most of Stevie’s wardrobe herself. As a result, she decided to take some unique keepsakes from the set, including the giant stag painting behind Stevie’s desk, Stevie’s name tag, a hotel keychain, the book “Fast Forward to Success – Business the Johnny Rose Way,” and a playbill for “Cabaret” featuring a vintage snapshot of Moira Rose.
Mark your calendars for the release of “Appendage” on Hulu on October 2, and stay tuned for more updates on Emily Hampshire’s exciting projects in the world of film and television.
