The absence of “Gotham Knights” was glaring in The CW’s recent statement regarding its upcoming programming. However, there was good news for fans of superhero shows, as both “Superman & Lois” and “All American: Homecoming” have been renewed for the 2023-2024 broadcast season.

This decision regarding the future of “Gotham Knights” comes over two weeks before the series was set to air its now-final episode. The show made its debut on March 4 and was originally slated to wrap up its 13-episode first season on June 27.
“Gotham Knights,” a creation of Warner Bros. Television, delved into the story of Bruce Wayne’s rebellious adopted son, who assembles a team comprising the children of Batman’s adversaries. The series was co-created by Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams, who also served as executive producers alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden of Berlanti Productions.
With the conclusion of “Gotham Knights,” “Superman & Lois” now stands as the sole DC production remaining at The CW. A few years ago, the network boasted multiple adaptations featuring characters from the DC comic book universe. In January, newly appointed heads of DC Studios, Peter Safran and James Gunn, announced their plans for “Superman & Lois” to continue for “one or two more seasons” as they restructured their approach to television projects. The renewal is now official, with a 10-episode order confirmed for the upcoming fourth season. The series is a collaboration between Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing, Sarah Schechter, Brent Fletcher, and Geoff Johns.
Brad Schwartz, the President of Entertainment at The CW, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to bring back ‘All American: Homecoming’ and ‘Superman & Lois.’ These series are two of our strongest performers across our linear and digital platforms, with some of the most passionate fan bases in all of television. We are grateful to our partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions for their continued collaboration, and we cannot wait to get started on the new seasons.”
As for “All American: Homecoming,” which made its debut in the spring of 2022, it’s set to return for a third season comprising 13 episodes. A spinoff of the network’s popular sports series “All American,” “Homecoming” is a product of Berlanti Productions and Rock My Soul Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios. Executive producers include Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robbie Rogers, Marqui Jackson, and Lindsay Dunn.
