The series’ official logline sets the stage for the comedic adventure: “Kite Man and Golden Glider take their relationship to the next level by opening a bar in the shadow of Lex Luthor’s Legion of Doom. Nobody said serving cold ones to the most dangerous rogues outside of Arkham Asylum would be easy, but sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and how to hide a body.”
Matt Oberg, known for his role as Kite Man in the original “Harley Quinn” series, will reprise his character, while Stephanie Hsu joins him as the charming and enigmatic Golden Glider. The stellar cast also includes James Adomian as Bane, Natasia Demetriou as Malice, Janelle James as Queen of Fables, Jonathan Banks as Noonan, Keith David as Darkseid, Michael Imperioli as Joe/Moe Dubelz, Rory Scovel as Gus the Goon, the late Lance Reddick as Lex Luthor, and Judith Light as Helen Villigan.
“Kite Man: Hell Yeah!” is set to be a humorous addition to the DC Universe, with executive producers Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey, the creative minds behind “Harley Quinn,” leading the way. Kaley Cuoco, who stars in “Harley Quinn,” also lends her talents as an executive producer. Showrunner Dean Lorey ensures the series stays true to its roots and maintains the edgy humor that fans have come to love.
The show is based on characters from DC Comics and is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, promising high-quality animation and storytelling.
Suzanna Makkos, the executive vice president of original comedy and adult animation for HBO Max and Adult Swim, expressed her excitement about the new series: “We love the wild and fun world of ‘Harley Quinn’ so much we just had to make a spin-off, and who better to center it around than the outcast Kite Man. Justin, Patrick, and Dean have created the perfect local hangout for Gotham City’s not-so-finest at Noonan’s, where bar patrons can blow off steam after a long day of mayhem.”
With its blend of humor and action set in the beloved DC Universe, “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!” promises to be a must-watch series for fans of the “Harley Quinn” franchise and anyone seeking a fresh, comedic take on the world of superheroes and supervillains. As the anticipation builds, viewers can mark their calendars for 2024 when the series is set to take flight on HBO Max.
