In a surprising turn of events, actor Tyler Posey announced via his Instagram that he will be part of the upcoming season of “The Surreal Life.” The reality show, which originally aired on VH1, is now making its way to MTV and is set to commence production this month. Posey will be joining a diverse cast that includes singer Macy Gray, actor Chet Hanks, former Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke, rapper O.T. Genasis, former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak, figure skater Johnny Weir, and model Josie Canseco.

While Posey is best known for his portrayal of Scott McCall in MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” a role he recently reprised for the Paramount+ project, “Teen Wolf: The Movie,” this marks his first time playing Scott while sober. In a previous interview with Variety, he admitted, “I was a pothead before. I was always high. So it’s nice to be present and fully aware.”
“The Surreal Life” is renowned for bringing together unexpected celebrities on a wild and over-the-top journey that pushes them to reveal different facets of themselves in surprising ways, according to MTV.

The show originally aired its first two seasons on The WB from 2003 to 2004 before finding its home on VH1, where it continued for five more seasons until its conclusion in 2006. However, it was rebooted in 2022 for a sixth season, featuring a fresh cast including Dennis Rodman, August Alsina, CJ Perry, Frankie Muniz, Kim Coles, Manny MUA, Stormy Daniels, and Tamar Braxton.
