“Tanaav,” produced by Applause Entertainment, made its debut on the SonyLIV streaming platform in November 2022 and received a warm reception from audiences. The series is set against the breathtaking backdrop of Kashmir and weaves together high-octane action sequences with emotionally charged narratives involving characters entangled in the fight against terrorism in the region.

The first season of “Tanaav” featured a stellar cast that included Manav Vij, Sumit Kaul, Rajat Kapoor, and Shashank Arora. Sudhir Mishra, known for his work on “Serious Men,” took the helm as director, while Sachin Mamta Krishn, who worked on “Hostages,” co-directed the series.

Sharon Levi, the Managing Director of Yes Studios, emphasized the significance of “Tanaav” as the first local adaptation of “Fauda,” which itself is hailed as the “first big global hit” produced by Yes Studios.

Speaking about their partnership with Applause Entertainment, Levi stated, “It was very important for us to work with the right partner, one that could deftly cover differing perspectives in a highly complex situation and create interesting and relevant characters anchored in its own unique local setting and circumstances.”

Sameer Nair, Managing Director of Applause Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm for “Tanaav” Season 2, citing the resounding success of the first season. He described the show as a compelling narrative of “courage, conflict, and camaraderie.”

“Fauda,” the series that inspired “Tanaav,” was originally created by Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz. It chronicles the missions of an elite team of Israeli undercover agents and has garnered numerous awards, including Best Series at the Israeli Academy TV Awards, and widespread acclaim in global media. The production of “Fauda” involves L. Benasuly Productions and Yes TV, with Yes Studios responsible for distribution. It was recently reported that “Fauda” has been renewed for a fifth season by the Israeli network Yes, confirming its enduring popularity and impact.

As “Tanaav” gears up for its eagerly anticipated second season, fans can expect a thrilling continuation of the story that explores the complexities of counterterrorism in one of the world’s most scenic yet tumultuous regions.

Stay tuned for more updates on the release date and developments surrounding “Tanaav” Season 2.
